Speaking at First Forums - First Unitarian Church of Chicago

  • First Unitarian Church of Chicago, Hull Chapel 5650 South Woodlawn Avenue Chicago, IL, 60637 United States (map)

First Forums is a discussion series open to the public and hosted at First Unitarian most Sundays after service. The mission of First Forum is to provide a venue to explore issues underlying topics of interest in a stimulating and thought-provoking manner.

On Sunday, March 1st, Jo Ann Lingle, RN, BSN will be speaking on Medicare for All. Although recently retired, Jo Ann had been a nurse since Medicare was passed in 1965! She has cared for many individuals and families in Metro Chicago from community hospitals to outpatient clinics and not-for-profit home health care. She had a kitchen table view of the influence of social determinants of health, as well as a vision of the potential good of a multidisciplinary public health system. Come hear Jo Ann talk about the ailments of our current system and how single-payer healthcare will start the process of healing our broken system.

According to the church, Hull Chapel is ADA accessible. Contact: schoolyear@ilsinglepayer.org.
