As of April, more than 27 million workers lost their employer-based health coverage - on top of the 27 million left behind by the Affordable Care Act.

Another way is possible! The Health Care Emergency Guarantee Act (lead sponsors: Rep. Pramila Jayapal, Sen. Bernie Sanders) ensures every person can get the health care they need during this pandemic, expanding Medicare to:

* cover deductibles and co-pays for those that have insurance

* provide full coverage for medically necessary care for those without insurance

* cost far less, and cover far more than paying COBRA fees
